Elly Hunt is a craftsperson, artist, costume designer, and teaching artist working in Colorado.

This summer, you can see Elly’s work at Thingamajig Theatre Company in both The American Trailer Park Musical and Godspell, as well as at Creede Repertory Theatre in their remount of Dear Jack, Dear Louise.

Elly’s recent work includes costume design for Bright Star and A Charlie Brown Christmas for Thingamajig, An Iliad (Outdoor) El Guyabo/The Guava Tree(Tour), and To The Moon(Virtual) at CRT, as well as coordinating costumes for a David Yarrow Photoshoot. In 2020, Elly was nominated for Broadwayworld Denver’s Costume design of the decade for both Thingamajig’s Men on Boats and CRT’s Ripcord followed by a costume design of the year nomination for their work on Dear Jack, Dear Louise at CRT in 2021.

With over a decade of experience in an eclectic variety of costume, crafting, and theatrical endeavors across the mid- and southwestern US, Elly is an enthusiastic collaborator and creative with a passion for supporting and telling stories that haven’t received their due attention in mainstream entertainment, no matter the age of the audience. Elly loves making a director or designer’s vision a reality, making a character "real" for an actor with their costume, and creating opportunities for and teaching skills to a new generation of young artists.
